Our farm is nestled in an idyllic setting between the mountains and ocean along the beautiful mid coast area of Maine.  We are home to a herd of Lowline Angus cattle that come from high quality Australian lineage.

About Our Beef

 

After much deliberation and research we decided that the Lowline Angus would be a perfect fit for our farm.  They are smaller than the full size Angus with wonderfully gentle dispositions being quiet tempered and easy animals to handle.  Their smaller stature allows us  to raise more head of cattle per acre than a full size breed, resulting in more pounds of meat per acre.  Among some of the numerous advantages that come with these docile animals is their ease of calving and being great mothers.

They are also naturally polled, which means they do not have horns.  

Lowlines are highly adaptable to most all climates and are perfect for intensive grazing practices.

The best trait of the Lowline Angus is the BEEF!  Once you have tasted the meat that comes from these grass and hay fed animals you will never want to go back to any other.  Lowlines produce an extremely high quality meat product with excellent tenderness and marbling.  The consequence of their efficiency culminates in a superior meat product that is healthy, being high in omega-3 (the "good" fatty acids), with high levels of CLA, conjugated linoleic acid which is an anti-carcinogen.  Meat from these grass-fed animals is very lean with less total fat and calories.   The meat is lower in omega 6, a detrimental fat which has been connected with many diseases and disorders.

One of the most important claims we make is that our beef is humanely raised without growth hormones, GMOs, or antibiotic treated feed. 

As stated before our cows are mainly grass fed with the same grass mix fed as hay during the winter.  Grain in the digestive tract of a cow/steer causes it to become more acidic promoting the growth of E-coli.
